How to Create / Modify a Reseller Account in WHM
Creating a Reseller account allows users/clients on your server to log in to WHM (with limited feature access) and create/manage their own cPanel accounts. This is similar to
our reseller hosting service.
Note: This guide is only for VPS and Dedicated Server customers. However, due to disk space limitations, we don't recommend it on most VPS plans.
How to turn an Existing cPanel Account into a Reseller
Step 1 - Log into WHM and navigate to Reseller Centre.
Step 2 - Select the cPanel account you want to be a Reseller under Add Reseller Account Privileges, ensure the checkbox is ticked, and select Add.
Once the account is created, the Reseller can use the same WHM URL that you use and their cPanel log in details for that account to log in to
WHM. Alternatively they can log in through <Their Domain>/whm (e.g. yourdomain.net.au/whm)
How to Create a new cPanel Account with Reseller Privileges
Step 1 - Log into WHM and go to the Create a New Account menu
Step 2 - Under the Reseller Settings, make sure to click Make the account a reseller.
Step 3 - Create the account as normal
How to Modify Reseller Privileges
Step 1 - Log into WHM and find the Reseller Center tool.
Step 2 - (1) Select the Reseller then (2) Click on Edit Reseller Nameservers and Privileges.
For more information on what you can allow resellers to access, we'd recommend reviewing the official cPanel documentation:
docs.cpanel.net/whm/resellers/edit-reseller-nameservers-and-privileges
Step 3 - Click Save All Settings once you're done
How to change the ownership of a cPanel account
If you create a cPanel account, you can create it with a particular Reseller account as its owner. If you have an existing cPanel account that you want to be owned by a Reseller, follow these steps.
Step 1 - Log into WHM and select Modify an Account.
Alternatively, you can modify multiple accounts at once through the Change Ownership of Multiple Accounts section.
Step 2 - On the Modify Account screen, change the Account Owner then select Save.
How to Remove Reseller Privileges
Step 1 - Log into WHM and navigate to Reseller Centre.
Step 2 - Select the cPanel account under Remove Reseller Account Privileges and select Remove.
