How to restart your server or individual services (Apache, MySQL, etc) in WHM

This guide is for VPS and Dedicated Servers. Reseller clients don't have access to this feature as it requires root level server access - however our team manages this side of the server on your behalf.

You can confirm if any services are down by using this guide. If your server is slowing down or getting database errors, restarting can be a quick way to get things back up and running. However it won't fix the underlying issue. If your server continues having trouble, submit a support ticket so we can investigate and help you resolve the problem permanently.

Step 1 - Log into WHM and search for restart. You'll be presented with a list of services you can restart, as well as the option to reboot your whole server.

Note: If rebooting the server, use Graceful Server Reboot to safely let all services to complete their current operations and then reboot. Only use Forceful Server Reboot if the Graceful Server Reboot does not start within five minutes.

Step 2 - Select the service you want to restart, then click Yes to restart the service.

Once the restart completes, you'll get a message saying it was successful.
