How to Create, Import or Export a MySQL Database on Plesk hosting


This guide assumes you have logged into Plesk.

Create Database
Step 1
- Open the Database tab.

Step 2 - Select Add Database.

Step 3 - Enter the name for your database, and create an associated database user.
We recommend using the password generator to create a complex password.

Export Database
Step 1 - Open the Database tab.

Step 2 - Select Export Dump next to the database in question.

Step 3 - Choose the directory the backup file is generated in. If needed, change the name of the file and choose whether to download it to your local machine as well. In either case, the dump will be generated and saved to the chosen location once you click OK.

Import Database
Step 1 - Open the Database tab.

Step 2 -
Select Import Dump next to the database in question.

Step 3 - Choose the database backup to restore from. You can select a file from the server, or upload a file directly from your own computer. Click OK to start the import.
