Fix Email Account Error 550


In some cases, you may find emails sent to you bounce back with an error message like the following:

In this case, it's worth ensuring your email routing is set up correctly. If you have your emails set up in cPanel, use the following guide. Otherwise, speak to your email provider for more information.


Step 1 - Log into cPanel and click on Email Routing.

Step 2 - Set the Routing to Local and click Change.
Note: If it's already set to Local, select Remote, click Change, then select Local and click Change again.

Step 3 - Go back to the main cPanel page and click on Professional Spam Filter.

Step 4 - Click Login for the email account having this problem.

Once logged in, Spam Experts will update its cache of existing email accounts, and the email account in question should start receiving emails. The account should start receiving emails immediately, but if you have sent a large amount of failed messages from a particular email account, that account may take a few hours before it is able to send to the new email account.
