Details required for an EV SSL certificate

An EV (Extended Verification) SSL certificate displays your company's name within the URL bar for greater customer confidence in your site such as the image below:

An EV SSL certificate requires considerably more verification checking than a standard SSL certificate, In order to have an EV SSL certificate activated you will be required to pass the following three checks:
1. Domain Verification - Clicking a confirmation link in an email sent to one of the following approved addresses for your domain:
  • admin@
  • administrator@
  • hostmaster@
  • postmaster@
  • webmaster@

Organisation Verification - Your business' contact details & legal business name verified by a 3rd party such as Dun and Bradstreet a business reputation firm.

3. Verification phone call - a phone call to the phone number listed in the 3rd party's records confirming details of the certificate.
