How to upgrade / downgrade one or more cPanel accounts in WHM


Note
: This only applies to cPanel accounts created in Reseller, VPS and Dedicated Servers with WHM. If you have a Shared hosting account and you would like to upgrade/downgrade, you can use this guide to do so.


How to upgrade/downgrade a single cPanel account in WHM
Step 1 - Log into WHM and find the Upgrade/Downgrade an Account option.

Step 2 -
Select the cPanel account you want to upgrade and click Modify.
Note: On Reseller accounts, you may get an error on this screen. The error prevents you from seeing the account summary (as below), but you can modify the account as normal.

Step 3 - Select the new package and click Upgrade/Downgrade.

How to upgrade/downgrade Multiple cPanel accounts in WHM
Step 1 - Log into WHM and find the Modify/Upgrade Multiple Accounts tool.

Step 2 - (1)
Select the accounts you want to upgrade (2) Select the Package you want the accounts upgraded to (3) Click Change.

You will not be able to upgrade or downgrade an account if the result of the upgrade would leave you over your Reseller allocation limits. In rare cases, you can run into issues where this prevents you from making changes to your quotas. If this happens, you can force through the changes if you have root access - or contact our support team with the required changes and we can assist you further.
